Audio Notetaker, the popular audio based note-taking tool, has had two versions released this year and now includes the following features:

PDF support - Students who get their lecture slides in PDF format, or those who want to work with PDF documents can now import them straight into Audio Notetaker.

Export straight to iTunes - Audio Notetaker will automatically create an album from your notes file and send it to iTunes, great for any student who wants to revise on the move.

Audio Notetaker for Mac - latest news
Sonocent has been porting Audio Notetaker to the Mac for over a year now. We will give a firm release date for this version by the start of September and hope to release it during the autumn term.
There are two stop-gap measures on offer:
a) the main release will be preceded by a few weeks with a Beta version. Anyone can sign up to trial the Beta version at:

Latest Needs Assessment Report (NAR)
Students with disabilities, may be eligible for Disabled Students' Allowances (DSAs). Such disabilities can include chronic health conditions, specific learning difficulties or mental health conditions.
DSAs help with the costs associated with attending a course, that result from a disability. For example, DSA's it may pay for specialist equipment, or a non-medical helper such as a note-taker. For undergraduate courses there is also an uncapped amount to help with travel costs. This financial assistance is non-repayable. It is administered and paid by Student Finance England.

Friendly Computers Launched New Website
The purpose of this website is to assist disability support staff, assessors and students to obtain information and prices on equipment supplied under the Disabled Student Allowance scheme. Our on-line system for providing equipment quotations was prepared with the assistance of disability support staff, assessors' and also utilising over fifteen years of experience in supplying higher/further education students under the DSA scheme.
The system is straightforward to use and covers the equipment commonly requested by assessors and disability support staff. However, it is not an exhaustive list of the equipment we are able to source and if you require information about equipment that doesn't appear on the list, please contact us and we'll do our best to source it for you. In fact, if you require any information, have any feedback or comments, we would love to hear from you.
